Contempt of Court

LisaMarie Gendron, 24, of Brattleboro, VT

Officer Cable

On 6/3/2017 at approximately 10 PM officers of the Brattleboro Police Department located LisaMarie Gendron(24 of Brattleboro) on Marlboro Road. Gendron had been issued conditions of release by a judge of the Windham County Superior Court stemming from a prior criminal charge. Gendron was arrested for violating the conditions of release. Gendron was later released and issued a citation to appear at court at a later date and time to answer to 28 counts of the charge of Criminal Contempt.

Simple Assault and Aggravated Disorderly Conduct

Alexander Kasser 34, of Brattleboro, VT

On 5/28/17 at approximately 1900 hours the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Elliot Street for a report of a male that obstructed a females path while making lewd comments to her. The male was immediately located and identified as Alexander Kasser. Kasser was arrested for disorderly conduct and simple assault. Kasser was issued a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date and time.

Unlawful Trespass

Chapman Y. Smith, 34, of Brattleboro, VT

On 05/25/17, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Western Avenue for a report of a male that had stolen alcohol. The investigation revealed that Chapman Y. Smith, 34, of Brattleboro, was the male who was involved with the theft. Smith had been previously served with a trespass after warning for this business. Smith was located on 05/28/17 and issued a citation to appear at Windham County Superior Court, Criminal Division to answer to the charge of Unlawful Trespass.

Operating under Criminal Suspension

Tyler Kinsley, 22, of Londonderry, VT

On 5/31/17 a motor vehicle stop was conducted on Putney Rd. in the Town of Brattleboro. Upon identifying the operator it was learned that Tyler Kinsley, 22 year old male resident of Londonderry was operating the motor vehicle while under criminal suspension. Kinsley was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed, cited and released to appear in Windham County Superior Court at a later date.

Vandalism of Gravestones

Peggy Strobeck, 32, of Brattleboro, VT

On May 31, 2017 Brattleboro Police were called to Prospect Cemetery on South Main Street by maintenance crews for someone who was driving over gravestones. When police arrived they found that Peggy Strobeck had driven across a part of the cemetery knocking over three separate gravestones, the gravestones were from the early 1900's or earlier. Strobeck was issued a citation to appear in court on a later date and time.

 

DUI

Emma R. Ethier, 18, of Brattleboro, VT

On 05/19/2017 at approximately 2308 hours Brattleboro Police, Brattleboro Fire and Rescue Inc. responded to Marlboro Road for a female subject that had struck a fire hydrant with her vehicle. There were no injuries from the collision.

Upon arrival, Brattleboro Police met with Emma R. Ethier. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Ethier for suspicion of driving under the influence. Ethier was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date.

Disorderly Conduct

Carmel Parker, age 46, residence Brattleboro, VT

Peggy Strobeck , age 32, residence Brattleboro, VT

On 05/30/17 at approximately 6:00 p.m. Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Canal Street for a dispute. Upon investigation it was determined that Carmel Parker and Peggy Strobeck had an altercation. Strobeck and Parker where both issued a citation for disorderly conduct to appear in Windham Superior Court at a later date in time.

Retail theft

Darlene Derby, 45, of Brattleboro, VT

On May 28, 2017 Brattleboro Police responded to a business on Putney Road for a female who had stole items from them. When police arrived the female had fled the scene. Police viewed security video from the business and recognized the female as Darlene Derby. Derby was later located and issued a citation to court for a later date and time.

Thomas J French Jr (30 of Brattleboro)

On 5/29/2017 at approximately 11:47 PM officers of the Brattleboro Police Department found Thomas J French (30 of Brattleboro) to be in violation of his court ordered conditions of release. French was arrested and later released with a citation to appear at court at a later date and time to answer to the charge of Criminal Contempt.

Michael Polcari 28, of New Hampshire

On 05/29/17 at approximately 2100 hours Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Western Ave. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Michael Polcari for Violation of Conditions. Polcari was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date and time.

Grand Larceny, Aggravated Assault, Petit Larceny

Walter Swift, 56, of Brattleboro, VT

On 05/26/2017 at approximately 1016 PM Brattleboro Police responded to a parking lot on Elm Street for a report of a male subject caught going through a vehicle. Brattleboro Police met with a male complainant who reported that he was missing items from his vehicle. The male suspect had fled the scene.

At approximately 1230 AM the male complainant had called the PD back and stated he located the male he caught inside his vehicle. The male told police that he took a picture of the male and police were able to identify the male as Walter Swift. The male complainant told police that when he took a picture of Swift, Swift took out a pocket knife and threatened him with the knife.

Police later located Swift and he was placed under arrest without incident. Swift was found to be in possession of stolen property. Swift was held on $5,000 bail and will appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.

DRIVING WITH CRIMINALLY SUSPENDED LICENSE

David Freckleton 41, of Brattleboro

On 5/23/17 a motor vehicle stop was conducted on Green St. in the Town of Brattleboro. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of David Freckleton, 41 year old male of Brattleboro for operating a motor vehicle while under criminal suspension in the State of Vermont. Freckleton was placed under arrest then transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed, cited and released to appear in Windham County Superior Court at a later date.

 

Possession of Cocaine

Richard Gero 52, of Brattleboro

On 05/29/17 at approximately 14:23pm, Brattleboro Police stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation on Clark Ave. Subsequent investigation led to a Citation being issued to Richard Gero for Possession of Cocaine. He was ordered to appear in Windham County Superior Court at a later date.

Burglary

Charles R. Cassell Jr, 25 of Brattleboro

On 05/22/2017 Brattleboro Police responded to the Vermont Country Deli on Western Avenue for a reported burglary alarm being activated. Investigation showed that a burglary had indeed taken place. Physical damage was done to the business both inside and out and items were stolen, to include money. 

Investigation led to the identification of a suspect. On 05/25/2017 police located Charles R. Cassell Jr. (25), of Brattleboro, at a local residence and arrested him in connection to this burglary. Cassell was held in the Brattleboro lockup on $1,000 bail. 

Brattleboro Police have investigated 19 commercial burglaries since the beginning of April. Each of those incidents is still being actively investigated. In order to ensure the integrity of those investigations, no more information regarding them will be released at this time.

Domestic Assault, Stolen Property

Moses Akot, 37 of Milton

On 5/24/2017 at approximately 10:14 PM officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Western Avenue for a report of a fight in progress. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Moses Akot (37 of Milton). Akot was also found to be in possession of the keys to a nearby vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Williston, VT. Akot was held in lieu of $1,000 bail and ordered to appear at court at a later date and time to answer to the charges of Domestic Assault and Possession of Stolen Property.

Felony possession of cocaine

Michael Polcari 28, of New Hampshire

On 05/23/2017, at approximately 2042 hours Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a motel on Putney Road, for the report of a domestic disturbance. During the course of the investigation Officers located what they believed to be suspected cocaine. After serving a search warrant on the motel room officers seized approximately 36.74 grams of cocaine. During the course of the investigation officers arrested Michael Polcari for felony possession of cocaine. Polcari will appear in court at a later date to answer to this charge.

Domestic Assault, Unlawful Restraint

Connor Rusin, 24, of Wilmington, VT

On May 18, 2017 Brattleboro Police Responded to Spring Street Road for an assault that had occurred. After speaking to the victim police found the suspect, Connor Rusin had fled on foot to an unknown location. Police checked the area but were unable to locate him. On May 22 police located and arrested Rusin at a Canal Street address. Rusin was processed and released on a citation to court for a later date and time.
