Snow removal from Downtown Streets TONIGHT

RE:          DOWNTOWN DISTRICT SNOW REMOVAL

The Town of Brattleboro would like to remind everyone that the snow emergency ban is in effect.  

Snow and ice will be removed from the streets in the downtown area this evening.   

Parked vehicles in the downtown district must be removed by 11:00pm or they will be towed at the owner’s expense.

 Streets will include, but NOT limited to the following: Main Street, surrounding streets, Upper Canal St, Western Ave area

If vehicles are going to remain in Town overnight they should park in the Brattleboro Transportation Center. If you use the Transportation Center, do not park in a Reserved Permit space without a permit. Pay and Display is in effect after 9:00 a.m.

Violation of Conditions

Joseph A. Pasquino, 32, of Brattleboro, VT

On 03/07/17 at approximately 2250 Brattleboro Police responded to a shelter in Brattleboro for a report of a male being intoxicated. Upon investigation it was determined that Joseph Pasquino was in violation of his conditions of release. Pasquino was arrested and held until his court date.

Retail Theft

Joseph Pasquino, 32, of Brattleboro, VT

On 02/26/2017 at approximately 1653 hours Brattleboro Police responded to a business on Main Street for a shoplifting complaint. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Joseph Pasquino for Retail Theft. Pasquino was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges of Violation of Conditions, Trespassing and Retail Theft.

Burglary

On March 04, 2017 at approximately 02:51 hours, members of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Hotel Pharmacy located on Elliot Street in Brattleboro for a burglary alarm.

Upon arrival Officers determined access had been gained into the pharmacy by forced entry. The officers conducted a search of the interior and did not locate anyone inside.

BPD is currently obtaining and reviewing area surveillance video to aid in the investigation.

Anyone having information regarding the burglary or may have seen suspicious activity around this time frame is asked to contact the Brattleboro Police Department at 802-257-7950.

As this is an active investigation, no further information will be released at this time.

 

Retail Theft

Amanda Krause, 36, of Brattleboro, VT

On 02/27/2017 at approximately 1400 hours Brattleboro Police responded to a business on Main Street for a shoplifting complaint. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Amanda Krause for Retail Theft. Krause was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date to answer the charge

Leaving the scene of an accident / Careless Neg Operation of a Vehicle

MaryBeth Brown, 21, of Brattleboro, VT

On 02/24/17 at approximately 2230 Brattleboro Police responded to Landmark Hill for a report of a hit and run. Upon investigation it was determined that MaryBeth Brown struck a parked vehicle, which in-turn, struck another vehicle. Brown then left the scene and returned a brief time later. There were no injuries. Brown was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and careless negligent operation of a vehicle.

Possession of Controlled Substance

George Gravatt, 28, of Brattleboro, VT

On February 20, 2017 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Canal St. when they noticed suspicious activity going on inside of a residence. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of George Gravatt for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Gravatt will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division at a later date to face the charge.

Domestic Assault

Scott Panton, 52, of Brattleboro, VT

On February 25 2017 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on High St. for a citizen dispute. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Scott Panton for Domestic Assault. Injuries from the assault were minor and no one was transported to the hospital. Panton will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division at a later date to face the charge.

Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Trespass

James Neveu, 61, of Brattleboro, VT

On 3/2/17 the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Main St. in the Town of Brattleboro to investigate a report of an intoxicated male in a bank kiosk refusing to leave. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of James Neveu, 61 year old male of Brattleboro for unlawful trespass and disorderly conduct. Neveu was cited and released from the scene and will appear in Windham County Superior Court at a later date to answer to the offenses.

Criminal Contempt

Victor Monette, 59, of Brattleboro, VT

On 03/02/2017  the Brattleboro Police charged Victor Monette of Brattleboro with Criminal Contempt. Monette came in contact with a subject in violation of his court ordered conditions of release. Monette was cited to appear in the Windham County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date to answer to this charge.

Aggravated Domestic Assault

Todd Buchas 38 of Ballston NY

On 2/15/2017, Officers received a report of an incident that had occurred at a residence on Melrose Street, involving a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that Todd Buchas caused injury to a female acquaintance. Todd Buchas was subsequently arrested for the offense of Aggravated Domestic Assault and lodged at the Brattleboro PD . He was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court.

Disorderly Conduct and Assault on an Officer

Jesse Johnson, 38, residence Brattleboro

On 02/25/17 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Brattleboro Police responded to a call of a male being disorderly in the area of Canal St. On scene Jesse Johnson was being loud and aggressive. During the interview with the Police, Johnson assaulted an Officer. Medical attention was not needed. Johnson was arrested and transported back to the Brattleboro Police Station where he was lodged.

Assault

Christine Samson-Fitzhenry, 30, of Brattleboro

On February 24 2017 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Elliot St. for an assault. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Christine Samson-Fitzhenry for Domestic Assault. During the course of arrest Samson-Fitzhenry was disorderly, and spit on officers. Injuries from the assault were minor, and no one was transported to the hospital as a result of this incident. Samson-Fitzhenry will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division at a later date to face the charges.

Domestic Assault, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Rebecca Paligo, 32 year old female of Brattleboro, VT.

On 2/24/17 at approximately 1500 hours Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of an assault in progress on South Main Street in Brattleboro Vermont.

Upon arrival two individuals, one male and one female were observed with wounds to their faces. Investigation led to the arrest of Rebecca Paligo, a 32 year old female from Brattleboro, VT, for Domestic Assault, Simple Assault, and Disorderly Conduct without incident.

Paligo was transported to Brattleboro Police Department, where she was processed and released into the custody of Probation and Parole. Paligo will appear at Windham County Superior Court at a later date and time to answer to the charges.

Stolen Vehicle

15 year-old male from Brattleboro, VT

On Friday, 02/24/2017 at approximately 06:04 hours, Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on West St. for a report of a stolen vehicle. Subsequent investigation resulted in a 15 year-old male from Brattleboro being charged with the offense of Operating Without Consent of Owner. This male will appear in the Windham Superior Court: Family Division on 03/30/2017 to answer to this charge. The stolen vehicle was recovered.

DUI

Allyson B. Gill 49 of Brattleboro

On 2/16/17 at approximately 1230 pm Brattleboro Police responded to Brattle Street on a report of an intoxicated driver. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Allyson B. Gill for DUI.

Eluding A Police Officer

Justin C. Rivera 25 of Brattleboro

On 2/15/2017 Brattleboro Officers observed Justin C. Rivera operating a vehicle at the intersection of Union Street and Western Ave. Officers knew Rivera to not have a valid license and made an attempt to stop him. Rivera fled heading west on Western Ave. Officers later located Rivera. Rivera was issued a citation and he is scheduled to appear in Windham County Court at a later date to answer the charge.
