Kidnapping/Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault/Interference with Access to Emergency Services

Walter Taylor, 25, of Brattleboro, VT

Officer Wilson

On 1/10/2018, Brattleboro Officers received a 911 call.   A female could be heard screaming.  That call was abruptly disconnected.  Officers were able to identify the owner of phone from which the call had originated and began an investigation to determine the female caller’s location.  Subsequent investigation determined that the caller was with Walter M Taylor, 25 of Brattleboro.

Taylor was later located along with the female caller.  Investigation revealed that he forced the female into his vehicle and kidnapped her. In the process the female suffered a broken hand.  He then drove around with the female in his vehicle for an extended amount of time.  He then took her cell phone from her to prevent her from calling for help.   There were no weapons involved.

Taylor was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro police Department where he was processed.  He was ordered held without bail and is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 1/11/2018 to answer to the charges.

The female was treated at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for her injuries and later released.
