On November 6, 2017 at 2002 hours the Brattleboro Police responded to Western Avenue, in the area of George Miller Drive for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. On arrival, a female pedestrian was located in the roadway. The operator of the vhicle, Walter Stearns (55 years of age) of Brattleboro remained on scene. EMS responded and treated the pedestiran. The pedestiran was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital by Rescue Inc. She was then transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH by DHART.
The pedestrian's condition was later reported as stable.
Western Ave. in the area was closed to traffic for approximately 1 hour while the police conducted their investigation of the scene. Any witnesses to the incident are encouraged to contact the Brattleboro Police at 802-257-7950. No charges have been brough forward as police continue to investigate the incident.
