Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct

On 8/31/14, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested a juvenile for simple assault and disorderly conduct resulting from an incident that occurred on Elliot St. The juvenile was cited and released to the care of a guardian and ordered to appear in court at a later date.

On 7/30/14 Brattleboro Officers responded to a report of trespassers in a building on Canal St. Subsequent investigation led to Forrest Hughes, 22, Gian Ciannavei, 22, Jennifer Davidson, 18, and a juvenile female, receiving citations for Unlawful Trespass. The subjects will appear in court at a later date to face the charge.

Minor consuming alcohol

On 07/11/14 at approximately 11:35pm, Brattleboro Police responded to Spring Street for a reported disturbance. Following an investigation into the incident, a 15 year old juvenile was cited to appear in Windham County Family Court at a later date for having consumed alcohol as a minor.

Assault

On 06/29/14, Brattleboro Police investigated a reported assault involving two juveniles. After an investigation, a 14 year old juvenile was issued a juvenile citation to appear in Family Court at a later date for the offense of simple assault.

Intoxication

On 6/10/14 Brattleboro Officers responded to Elliot St. regarding an intoxicated juvenile female. Subsequent investigation led to a juvenile female receiving a citation for Consumption of a Malt Beverage by a Minor.

Domestic Assault

On May 23, 2014 Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on South Main Street for an out of control juvenile. When police arrived a short investigation was done and police cited a juvenile to court for a later date and time for domestic assault.

On 2/21/2014 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault.  After investigation a juvenile was issued a citation to appear at court at a later date and time to answer to the charge of Unlawful Mischief.

Simple Assault

15 y/o male from Brattleboro, VT

On 01/31/2014 Brattleboro Police responded to the intersection of Elliot St. and Frost St. for a reported fight between 2 juveniles. Further investigation resulted in a 15 y/o male from Brattleboro being cited for Simple Assault. This male will appear in the Windham Superior Court: Family Division, at a later date to answer to this charge.

Unlawful Restraint at BUHS/BAMS

Date of Incident: 01/26/14

On 1/25/14 at around 9:30am Brattleboro Police officers responded to the Brattleboro Area Middle School for a report that a 12 year old girl had been grabbed by another student.
 
Police conducted an investigation and charged a 16 year old boy with the unlawful restraint of a 12 year old girl.  The suspect allegedly seized the girl, covered her mouth, and restrained her.  The girl was able to call for help and the boy fled on foot.  
 
Police located the boy and he was charged with this offense.   He was released from police custody under several court ordered conditions, including that he may not go onto BAMS/BUHS property.  The boy was released to the custody of a parent after being ordered to Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division.
 
The girl is a student at Brattleboro Area Middle School and the boy is enrolled as a student at Brattleboro Union High School.  Police notified the administration of both schools who have assisted and cooperated with the investigation.  At the time of this incident both students were attending an event sponsored by a community group that was taking place at BAMS/BUHS.  The activity was not a school sponsored event.
 
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Shoplifting

On 1/22/14, Brattleboro Police responded to Label Shopper on Putney Road for a report of three shoplifters in store custody.  All three were under the age of 18.  They were all issued citations to appear in court at a later date and trespassed from the store.

Disorderly Conduct / Possession of Marijuana

Date of Incident:  11/04/13 - 1530

On 11/04/2013 at approximately 1530 hours police witnessed a juvenile blocking a delivery truck from gaining access to the alleyway next to the transportation center on Flat Street. The juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct, and during the arrest process was found to be in possession of a misdemeanor amount of marijuana.

The juvenile was issued a citation for disorderly conduct, a ticket for possession of marijuana, trespassed from the transportation center, and released to a parent.
