Hit and run

On August 20, 2014 at approximately 1934 hours, Brattleboro Police and Fire and Rescue Inc. responded to a parking lot on Putney Road for a motor vehicle crash with one car possibly on fire. It was determined that a Toyota Corolla, operated by an unknown male, had accelerated into a group of three parked cars, one of which was occupied. The male operator was still trying to drive the car forward after the vehicle came to a stop, which made the front tires spin until they began to smoke. There did not appear to be an actual fire. The male exited the vehicle and left the scene on foot. There were no reported injuries.

This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Officer Eaton at the Brattleboro Police Department 802-257-7950.
