DUI, Leaving the scene of a crash

William J. Bushey III, 31, of Brattleboro

On December 20, 2014 at approximately 1928 hours, Brattleboro Police responded to Putney Road in the area of Hannafords for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injury and the suspect vehicle fled the scene. Officers were able to determine that a Chevrolet Silverado being operated by William J. Bushey III had rear ended a Subaru Impreza that was stopped for the red light. The Subaru was pushed into a Toyota Camry which was stopped in front of them for the same red light. Both vehicles were pushed through the intersection from the collision and Bushey fled. Bushey and his vehicle were located a short distance down the road. Bushey was subsequently arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of a crash. There was airbag deployment in the Subaru. There were minor, non-life threatening injuries in both the Subaru and Toyota. Bushey was not injured.

Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Gertrude Crites, 89, of Brattleboro, VT.

On 10/30/14, the Brattleboro Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle crash which occurred in a parking lot, located on Elliot Street in Brattleboro. Upon arrival, it was found that a vehicle had struck two parked cars, and the operator, Gertrude Crites, had left the scene. Crites was issued a Criminal Citation, ordering her into court at a later date for this charge.

Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Elizabeth E. Grobey, 63 of Saxtons River, VT

On 11/16/14 at approximately 1718 hours, Brattleboro Police responded to a business on West River road for a report of a hit and run. Investigation lead to Grobey being issued a citation to appear in court at a later date for leaving the scene of an accident. Grobey was also issued a ticket for operating with a suspended license.

DUI/LSA

Christopher Monroe, 46 of Hinsdale, NH

On 10/18/14 approximately 1901 hours, Brattleboro Police responded to Putney Road and Park Place for a report of a vehicle that jumped a curb, which blew out its tires and ran over street signs, then heading the wrong way down Putney Road to Main Street before crossing over into New Hampshire. Investigation lead to Monroe being issued a citation for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

10/19/14 update:

Brattleboro Police are looking for Cory Chamberlin, 26, of Maryland in connection to this case. He may be staying with family in Dummerston. Please contact the Brattleboro Police if you have information on his whereabouts.

On August 20, 2014 at approximately 1934 hours, Brattleboro Police and Fire and Rescue Inc. responded to a parking lot on Putney Road for a motor vehicle crash with one car possibly on fire. It was determined that a Toyota Corolla, operated by an unknown male, had accelerated into a group of three parked cars, one of which was occupied. The male operator was still trying to drive the car forward after the vehicle came to a stop, which made the front tires spin until they began to smoke. There did not appear to be an actual fire. The male exited the vehicle and left the scene on foot. There were no reported injuries.

This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Officer Eaton at the Brattleboro Police Department 802-257-7950.

LSA, Negligent operation, Cruelty to child under 10

On 9/5/14, Brattleboro Police responded to Green Street for a citizen dispute. The investigation led to the arrest of Allamby for leaving the scene of a crash, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and cruelty to children under 10. She was cited to appear in court at a later date.

Leaving the scene of an accident, gross negligent operation

Herbert Fagans III, 28 year old male from Brattleboro

On July 10, 2014, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a 2 car motor vehicle crash, which occurred on Canal Street. After investigation, Herbert Fagans III, was subsequently issued a criminal citation for leaving the scene of an accident and for gross negligent operation. Fagans will appear into court at a later date for these charges.

On July 15, 2014, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the intersection of Putney Road and Vermont Avenue for a reported two car motor vehicle crash. It was reported that one of the involved vehicles left the scene prior to police arrival. After an investigation, Thayron J. White was subsequently issued a criminal citation for leaving the scene of an accident. White will appear into court at a later date for this offense.

On 06/23/14, at approximately 1555 hrs, Officers from the Brattleboro Police Department, responded to the New England Youth Theater parking lot for a report of a two car motor vehicle crash. Prior to the officers arrival it was advised that one of the vehicles had left the scene. After further investigation Monette was cited for leaving the scene of an accident. Monette will appear in court at a later date to face his charge.

On 5/15/14 at approximately 1549 hours, Brattleboro Police responded to 821 Guilford Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash where the operator left the scene. The operator was located at a residence a few houses down, identified as Dennis W. Munahll and screened for DUI. Munhall was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash and suspicion of DUI.

Hit and run

Date of incident: 4/21/14

The Brattleboro Police are looking for assistance locating a subject involved in a hit and run on Western Avenue near 7-11, that occurred on 04/21/2014 at approximately 4:25pm. The subject who fled the scene of the collision is described as a skinny white male, late teens to early 20's, with dirty blond hair, wearing a ball cap and a sleeveless shirt. The subject was driving a maroon Geo Tracker with a tan canvas top, possibly a 1995 or 1997 model, with New Hampshire license plates. The Geo should have front end damage. On March 31, 2014 Brattleboro Police responded to Canal Street for a reported hit and run motor vehicle accident. After an investigation took place police arrested Michael Monette for leaving the scene of an accident and negligent operation. Monette was cited to appear to court on a later date and time.
