On September 29, at approximately 1213 the Brattleboro Police Department responded to 158 Western Ave for a pedestrian struck by a car. Upon police arrival it was found Leslie Butts age 50 had been struck by a vehicle driven by Darren Puffer age 45 of Vernon. Butts was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where he was being treated for non life threatening injuries. The investigation is still ongoing.

Dana J. Lewis, 58, of Brattleboro, Vermont
On 9/8/14 at around 8:50AM Brattleboro police, fire, and Rescue Inc. responded to Old Ferry Road near the intersection of Putney Road for a report of a collision. The initial investigation revealed that a pedestrian, Zachary M. Patterson (26) of Dummerston, had been walking west on Old Ferry Road. Patterson was struck by a 2013 Ford F150 pickup truck. The truck was being driven by Dana Lewis.
Lewis was arrested and issued a citation for DUI. Patterson was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Old Ferry Road was reduced to one lane with alternating direction traffic for several hours. The investigation into this incident is ongoing. The Vermont State Police assisted at the scene of the collision.
On 09/05/14, at approximately 20:51 hours, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a 2 vehicle motor vehicle crash on Western Avenue it the area of the the Crowell Lot. Both Brattleboro Fire Department and Rescue Inc also responded.
Both operators; an 18 year old female from Brattleboro, VT and a 25 year old female from Vernon, VT were transported via Rescue Inc to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Western Avenue was closed to traffic for approximately 4 hours during the initial investigation. However, the investigation is ongoing.
On 8/27/14 at approximately 1702 hours, Vermont State Police reported to the Brattleboro Police that they came upon a motor vehicle versus bicyclist crash on Western Avenue near Garfield Drive. Brattleboro Police responded as well as Brattleboro Fire and Rescue Inc .
It was determined that Joseph J Persio, 27, of Cheshire, CT was traveling east bound on Western Ave. He came upon a bicyclist also headed in the same direction. As Persio was passing the cyclist, Judith Malloy, 69, of Brattleboro, VT, she collided with his car. Malloy was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This incident remains under investigation.
On Thursday, 08/21/2014 at approximately 06:45 hours, Brattleboro Police responded to the intersection of Marlboro Road and Dettman Drive for a report of a motor vehicle accident, car vs. motorcycle.
Further investigation revealed that a 2011 Chrysler operated by Jeanette Detch (55 year-old female from Brattleboro, VT) exited Dettman Drive, at which point a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Murray Rumohr (64 year-old male from Alberta, Canada) struck Detch's vehicle.
Rumohr was transported via Rescue Inc. to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to the amount of damage they sustained.
Brattleboro Police were assisted by the Brattleboro Fire Department, Rescue Inc., Brattleboro Towing and Al's Towing.
On 7/24/14 at around 4:30pm a Brattleboro police officer was flagged down by a citizen who told him there had been a motor vehicle collision with a rollover on Western Avenue near I-91 exit 2. At the same time, Brattleboro central dispatch received several 911 calls reporting the same. The Brattleboro police, Brattleboro fire department, and Rescue, Inc responded to the scene.
Following an investigation police determined the following. Yasmin Tayeby (26) of Brattleboro was driving west on Western Avenue. She was driving a 2014 Mini Cooper. Scott E. Whitehill (67) of Keene, NH had been driving on the I-91 south #2 off-ramp near the intersection of Western Avenue. He was driving a 2005 Toyota Prius.
Whitehall drove off the exit ramp and on to Western Avenue. He struck the passenger side of Tayeby's vehicle with the front of his vehicle as she drove by on Western Avenue. This caused Tayeby's vehicle to roll over on to its roof. All occupants were able to exit their vehicles and no injuries were reported.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Western Avenue was closed for about an hour. Whitehall was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield at a stop sign.

On 12/27/13 at around 7:10am Brattleboro police, fire, and rescue responded to the area of 133 Canal Street for a report of a vehicle collision. Initial investigation revealed the following.
Ruth T. Fleming (59) of Newfane, Vermont was driving a 2013 Subaru Impreza south on Canal Street near #133. The vehicle drove up onto the curb and struck Joseph H. Beebe (66) of Brattleboro, Vermont, who was walking on the sidewalk at the time. Beebe was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The investigation into this collision is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have information is asked to call Officer Ryan Washburn at 802-257-7950.

On 11/18/2013 at approximately 20:52 hours, emergency services responded to the area of Goodenough Road and Hinesburg Road for a single motor vehicle crash with one occupant. The operator of that vehicle was identified as James Lannon, 60,. Lannon was operating his Chevrolet pick up truck when it left the roadway into a field colliding with two trees. Lannon was ejected from his vehicle during the crash. Lannon was treated on scene by emergency services, transported to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where he was flown Dartmouth Medical Center, NH to be treated for injuries. Lannon is currently listed as in critical condition at this time. Speed is considered as a contributing factor. At this time the crash is still under investigation as to other contributing factors.

On 11/18/2013 at approximately 20:52 hours, emergency services responded to the area of Goodenough Road and Hinesburg Road for a single motor vehicle crash with one occupant. That occupant was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where the occupant was flown Dartmouth Medical Center NH to be treated for injuries. The crash is still under investigation, the condition of the operator is unknown at this time.
Date of Incident: 11/14/13
On 11/14/13 at approximately 1656 hours, Brattleboro Police responded to a three vehicle crash with possible injury on Western Ave at Guilford Street. One vehicle was located up against the guardrail by the Creamery Bridge, one was in the grassy area by Guilford St and one vehicle was found still in the roadway between the other two. It was determined that Jill Cobb, 34 of Wilmington, was traveling west bound on Western Ave when she crossed the center line into the east bound lane. Kayla Harris, 22 of Brattleboro, was traveling east bound when Cobb's vehicle struck the rear driver side of hers. The force from this crash sent Harris' vehicle into west bound traffic, causing her vehicle to collide with a vehicle being operated by Melissa Page, 27 of Brattleboro, who was following Cobb.
Western Ave was closed for just over an hour. Two people, to include a passenger in one of the vehicles, were transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Neither speed or alcohol are believed to be factors. This incident remains under investigation.
On November 11, 2013 at approximately 08:34 hours, Emergency Services personnel responded to the area of 435 Western Avenue in Brattleboro for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
Through preliminary investigation it was learned Eric Tuepker, age 40, appeared to have been struck by the side of a flat-bed trailer that was being pulled by a 2003 Ford F250 pickup truck, driven by Ronald Farrington, age 56.
Tuepker was transported to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital by Rescue Inc and then life-flighted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center via DHART to be treated for his injuries. Tuepker is currently listed in stable condition.
Western Ave. had to be closed for approximately an hour and a half due to the accident.
The accident is still under investigation, however, speed or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
